Katie, a 43 year resident of Bend has been around to watch and help Bend grow from a community with very little to offer people with disabilities to a community she feels is cutting edge in its supports.
Her 29year old daughter Beth has for the last three years lived in her own lovely apartment (with many, many daily supports). Katie and her husband are very proud of their involvement with the Kearny-Norton Ave. Apartments and the COTP Board. With the help of Cascade Community Development and many parents and community members, they have built a safe and progressive environment providing independent living for people with an array of disabilities.
Katie has served on the Alyce Hatch Board, which is an early intervention program for birth to three year olds with disabilities. She served on several committees with Mental Health, and is now serving on the COTP Board. Katie is very proud to have been recently asked to join the Full Access Board of Directors.
"My daughter Beth is so fortunate to be the recipient of the wonderful programs and people of Central Oregon who support her independence. It is my desire and privilege to help whenever and however I can".
